Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Sailor King of Pen Iro-Miyabi Usukou Fountain Pen, which comes with its wooden Sailor presentation box. The pen has barely been used and is presented in overall fantastic condition.
The King of Pen requires no introduction and is a wonderful Sailor model. This is the glorious Iro-Miyabi version which uses the Ishime-nuri urushi technique - the slightly grainy finish is achieved by sprinking either charcoal powder of dry lacquer powder on top of the urushi lacquer, which is then polished and multiple layers of lacquer is applied on top. The base material of the pen is ebonite and the trim is gold-plated.
The deep blue colour of the Fukaai is a shade that was favoured by Samurai as a lucky colour.
The pen is a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds. It's fitted with a 21k medium nib.
