Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Pilot Maki-e Enthronement Phoenix Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large wooden Pilot presentation box, information leaflets and bottle of ink. The pen has barely been used and is presented in overall wonderful condition. Only 800 were produced and this is number 279.
Released in 2019, the pen celebrates the start of the REIWA era (1st May 2019) upon Emperor Naruhito's coronation. The pen is finished in black urushi lacquer, with a Togidashi-taka maki-e design of a Phoenix on the barrel and camellia on the cap. The presentation box is hexagonal, which is a nod to the symbol of "the pardon of the throne.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied) so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
