Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Pelikan Souveran M1000 Lighthouse of Alexandria Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with an IZODS presentation box, information booklet and certificate. The pen has never been inked and is presented in overall lovely condition - there are some small marks (shown in the photos), where the large glass dome that originally came with the pen shattered. Only 440 were produced and this is number 225.
Part of the Seven Wonders of the World series, The Lighthouse of Alexandria was the fourth release, in 2007. The lighthouse stood at some 400 feet tall (hence the overall limitation number), with it standing for nearly 1000 years, before it was destroyed by an earthquake.
The pen takes its inspiration from the design of the lighthouse, with the cap featuring four stylised lighthouse windows, with the section being engraved with an image of this ancient wonder. The pen is finished in dark blue lacquer, with the trim being gold-coated.
The pen is fitted with an 18c fine nib, which is engraved with a blazing fire beacon. The M1000 is a piston filling pen, so the choice here is bottled ink.
