Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this very rare Parker WoodPen Briar Wood Fountain Pen, which comes with an IZODS presentation box... also included is a folder, detailing lots of information regarding the WoodPen series and including a letter to the German politician Walter Carlein. The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in overall fantastic condition
So what is this rare creation? Well... released in 1981, Parker in Germany created a limited edition range of pens, which were crafted from eight different wood finishes.
Initially there were meant to be 2000 of each, but due to objections from Parker in the US, production was halted and as such it was never clear how many had actually been made at that stage (although it was suggested that it was around 500).
Apart from their wooden finish, the most obvious design feature is the huge stylised Parker clip. In our opinion, these Woodpens win the prize for arguably the most unusual, but captivating, Parker design ever!
The nib is a 14k broad and its very similar to the one fitted to the Parker 105. It's a cartridge / converter and has a modern converter included.
