Thanks for looking at our listing for this Onoto The University of Cambridge Sterling Silver Prototype Fountain Pen, which comes with its large lacquered wooden presentation box (including outer), information leaflets and certificate – confirming first purchase on 1st June 2010. This was the prototype and designated as P7, it also features the limitation number 022/200. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in excellent condition... there a couple of light marks on the nib (shown in the photos), but they don't affect the usage at all.
The University of Cambridge pens were released in 2009, to commemorate their 800th anniversary. This is an extremely impressive writing instrument, with it being based on the Magna but featuring a longer barrel - it measures 133mm without the cap and 156mm with it attached.
The pen is crafted from sterling silver, which has an engine turned diamond pattern. The University of Cambridge crest can be found atop the cap and the barrel finial has the engraving P7.
It's fitted with an 18k size 7 fine nib and it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
The important details are as follows...
Excellent Condition
Fine Nib
Onoto Presentation Box
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication - "izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens".
