Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Omas Paragon Red Scarlet Celluloid Vermeil Preziose Fountain Pen, which comes with an IZODS presentation box. The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in fantastic condition.
OMAS require no introduction and since their sad demise in January 2016, the hunger from fans and collectors for great examples of their writing instruments has increased dramatically! The company was founded by Armando Simoni and the full name was Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, abbreviated to OMAS.
The barrel, section and cone are crafted from iconic Red Scarlet celluloid, which features myriad of pink, red and black tones. The cap is sterling silver, which is then gold-plated. The Vermeil cap works brilliantly with the tones of the celluloid.
The pen is fitted with a 14k double broad nib, which has been ground to a 'Kodachi' by Matthew Chen - this nib grid originated from the legendary Yukio Nagahara and he has allowed Matthew Chen to use the same name for this grind. It is similar to a Naginata Togi, with thin vertical lines and thicker horizontal lines.
The pen is a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows...
Condition: Fantastic
Box: IZODS
Nib: Kodachi
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller.
