Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Omas I Think Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large wooden Omas presentation box. The pen has never been inked and is presented in wonderful condition. Only 1000 were produced and this is number 0131.
OMAS require no introduction and since their sad demise in January 2016, the hunger from fans and collectors for great examples of their writing instruments has increased dramatically! The company was founded by Armando Simoni and the full name was Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, abbreviated to OMAS.
Released in 2009, the pen celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of the publication of "The Origin of Species". The clip features lizard, turtle, iguana and flamingo footprints and the cap ring is engraved with a DNA helix. As a nod to his ship, the HMS Beagle, the remainder of the pen is crafted from natural oak and the barrel is engraved with its journey.
The pen is fitted with an 18k fine nib and it's a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
