Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Omas Emozioni di Carnevale Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large OMAS presentation box, mask and booklet. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall excellent condition. Only 1458 were produced and this is number 0247.
OMAS require no introduction and since their sad demise in January 2016, the hunger from fans and collectors for great examples of their writing instruments has increased dramatically! The company was founded by Armando Simoni and the full name was Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, abbreviated to OMAS.
Released in 2003, as a celebration of Venice and its carnival. The cap and barrel are finished in a white lacquer, with black swirls, symbolising both movemenet and the difference between day and night. The clip resembles the prow of a gondola, with the nib being decorated with a star and moon. The satin gold finish resembles the gold decorations found on many Venetian buildings.
The pen is fitted with a 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
