Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montegrappa Mia Carissima Brick Red Ebonite Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its impressive Montegrappa presentation case (including outers), information booklet and eyedropper. The pen has never been used and is presented in essentially as new condition. Only 100 were produced and this is number 074.
The Mia Carissima is an imposing pen, measuring 155mm when capped. It takes its inspiration the safety pens of the WWII era and is an eye-dropper filler, with a retractable nib. So in short, you turn the end of the pen to retract the nib, fill the dropper from the ink bottle and then squeeze the ink down inside where the nib has been retracted. So Montegrappa have taken historical inspiration but created an entirely modern version!
The barrel and cap are crafted from mottled brick red (almost orange!) ebonite, with the trim being steel. The pen is fitted with an 18k broad nib.
