Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montegrappa Ammiraglio 1939 Malachite Celluloid Fountain Pen, which comes with its large wooden Montegrappa presentation box (including outer), bottle of ink and booklet. The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in fantastic condition. Only 80 were produced and this is number 48.
The Ammiraglio (Admiral) fountain pen is crafted from glorious Mazzuchelli malachite celluloid, which features myriad of green and black tones. The trim is crafted from sterling silver. The shape takes its inspiration from a model from the 1930s, but what makes the Ammiraglio such an intriguing pen, is that Sailor produced the nibs for this model... especially as it's an 18k rather than the usual Sailor 14k or 21k.
The pen is fitted with an 18k hard medium (H-M) nib and it's a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
