Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montegrappa Amedeo Modigliani Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montegrappa presentation box (including outer), bottle of ink, certificate and unstamped booklet. The pen has never been used and is presented in essentially as new condition. Only 3350 were produced and this is number 0508.

Released in 2008, the pen is part of the Genio Creativo collection and this edition pays tribute to the Italian artist, Amedeo Modigliani. He is renowned for his portraits and the firm brushstrokes that he is known for are recreated in the appearance of the blue resin. Blue was chosen as it is prominent in many of his portraits. The shape of the pen is a nod to the contours he used, with the asymmetrical clip and cap trim taking inspiration from features in his work. The trim is platinum-coated.

This is a fascinating pen, not only for its design, but also because it was produced during the period when Richemont owned the brand (2000-2009). They purchased it from the Aquila family and then subsequently sold it back to them. The reason that this is interesting, is because there are so many little details that would actually be familiar to a Montblanc enthusiast... including the nib sticker on the barrel, nib (basically a LeGrand nib), the label text on the outside of the box and even the 'Made in Germany' sticker on the barrel.

The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and has a captive converter, so your choice here is bottled ink.

The important details are as follows...

Condition: Essentially As New

Box: Montegrappa

Nib: Medium

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller.
