Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Year of the Golden Dragon 888 Meissen Fountain Pen, which comes with its large lacquered Montblanc presentation box (including outers) and booklets. The pen has never been used and is presented in as new condition. Only 888 were produced and this is number 583. There is some light flaking to the black lining of the presentation box.
Released in 2000, this is the glorious Year of the Golden Dragon 888 - the barrel and cap are crafted from Meissen porcelain, with this being hand-painted in vibrant red and gold tones. The Five Clawed Dragon design used is a nod to the link between Asian artistry and finest porcelain crafts since the 18th Century. This limited edition truly is a work of art.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it's a piston filling pen, which means that bottled ink is your choice here.
