Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montblanc Writers Edition William Shakespeare Fountain Pen, which comes with its book style Montblanc presentation box (the label on the outer is a mismatch for this pen). The pen has been regularly used but is presented in overall very good condition. Only 8700 pens were produced and this is number 5024.
Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2016 it was William Shakespeare.
The black and white design is a nod to the flags that flew at the Globe Theatre, with white for comedy and black for tragedy. The clip is inspired by his signature earring and the octagonal cap is also a reference to the Globe. The gold-plated ring has several references to his plays.
The pen is fitted with an 18k oblique medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
