Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition William Shakespeare Fountain Pen, which comes with its book style Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and stamped booklet - confirming first purchase in December 2016. The pen was only inked once to test and is presented in wonderful condition. Only 8700 pens were produced and this is number 6844.
Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2016 it was William Shakespeare.
The black and white design is a nod to the flags that flew at the Globe Theatre, with white for comedy and black for tragedy. The clip is inspired by his signature earring and the octagonal cap is also a reference to the Globe. The gold-plated ring has several references to his plays.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
