Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montblanc Writers Edition Thomas Mann Fountain Pen, Ballpoint Pen and Mechanical Pencil Set which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (including outers) and unstamped information booklet. The fountain pen was only dipped to test and is presented in virtually as new condition - the M sticker, denoting a medium nib, remains on the cone. The ballpoint and mechanical pencil have never been used. All three writing instruments have the limitation number 1860.
Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2009 it was Thomas Mann, the renowned 20th Century writer, best known for his masterpiece "Buddenbrooks".
Each of the writing instruments are finished in black lacquer, with platinum-plated inlays inspired by the Art Deco era. The use of these colours and materials is a nod to the different relationships between the characters in "Buddenbrooks".
The fountain pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. The ballpoint comes with a new refill and the pencil has 0.7mm leads.
