Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (including outers) and unstamped information booklet. The pen has never been used and is presented in as new condition - the M sticker, denoting a medium nib, remains on the cone. Only 10000 were produced and this is number 2904.
Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2025 it is the revolutionary Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
The design of the pen takes its inspiration from the novel 'The Sorrows of Young Werther', with his description of marble being reflected in the appearance of the precious lacquer, with the main barrel ring benig engraved with a design reminiscent of a copperplate illustration in an early edition. The particular shade of blue was chosen as a nod to the colour in the Juno room at his home, with the intricate pattern on the lacquer reflecting the texture of the wallpaper.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it's a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
