Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this glorious Montblanc Writers Edition George Bernard Shaw Fountain Pen, Ballpoint Pen and Mechanical Pencil Set, which comes with its Montblanc book-style presentation box (including outers) and unstamped booklet. All three are unused and are presented in virtually as new condition - the M sticker, denoting a medium nib, remains on the cone of the fountain pen. All three writing instruments have the limitation number 2743.
Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2008 it was George Bernard Shaw, the Irish freethinker. The set is inspired by the character Eliza Doolittle from his most famous play Pygmalion. Just as Eliza, a poor flower girl, is brought up to be an aristocratic lady, so the platinum trim on the pen is replaced more and more towards the cap by the opulent dark green of the precious resin.
The beautiful deep marbled green represents the lush fields that Shaw left behind in Ireland. This is one of the most eye-catching of all the Writers Editions and will be a fine addition to any collection.
The fountain pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it's a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. The ballpoint will come with a new refill and the pencil has 0.7mm leads.
