Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Daniel Defoe Writers Edition Fountain Pen, Ballpoint Pen and Mechanical Pencil Set which comes with its trio of folio-style Montblanc presentation boxes (including outers) and stamped information booklet – confirming first purchase on 19th August 2014. All three writing instruments are presented in wonderful condition. The MP and BP have the limitation number 0725, with the FP being 6934.
Launched in 2014, as the yearly offering for the Montblanc Writers Edition. The Defoe takes its inspiration from his famous novel ‘Robinson Crusoe’, which was released in 1719. The barrel and cap are crafted from a swirling brown and black resin, with the cap being shaped like a feather, which is a nod to ‘Poll’ his parrot. The shape of the pen reflects the shape of the boats paddle draft. The pattern on the cap ring and piston cone are a reproduction of the pattern used on the first edition of the book.
The fountain pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filling pen, so your choice here is bottled ink. The ballpoint pen will come fitted with a new refill and the pencil has 0.7mm leads.
