Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montblanc Writers Edition Carlo Collodi Fountain Pen, Ballpoint Pen and Mechanical Pencil Set which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (including outers) and unstamped information booklet. The fountain pen and mechanical pencil have never been used and are presented in virtually as new condition. The ballpoint has been regularly used, but is still presented in lovely condition. All three have the fantastic low limitation number of 0004.
Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2011 it was Carlo Collodi.
The barrel is crafted from a deep brown resin, with the skeletonised cap and trim being Champagne-gold plated. The pen takes its inspiration from his greatest work "The Adventures of Pinocchio". The cap shows him and his companions, the cricket, fox, cat and whale, with the screw on the clip being a nod to the joints of the famous marionette. Collodi's signature can be found engraved on the cap. The shape of the cone represents Pinocchio's nose!
The fountain pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. The ballpoint comes with a new refill and the pencil has 0.7mm leads.
