Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Carlo Collodi Ballpoint Pen, which comes with an IZODS presentation box. The pen has been regularly used, but is still presented in overall lovely condition. The pen has the fantastic low limitation number of 0004.
Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2011 it was Carlo Collodi.
The barrel is crafted from a deep brown resin, with the skeletonised cap and trim being Champagne-gold plated. The pen takes its inspiration from his greatest work "The Adventures of Pinocchio". The cap shows him and his companions, the cricket, fox, cat and whale, with the screw on the clip being a nod to the joints of the famous marionette. Collodi's signature can be found engraved on the cap. The shape of the cone represents Pinocchio's nose!
The pen is fitted with a new refill.
