Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montblanc Writers Edition Alexandre Dumas (Father) Mechanical Pencil, which comes with an IZODS presentation box. The pencil has been carefully used and is presented in overall lovely condition.
Launched in 1996, as the yearly offering from the Montblanc Writers Edition, the Alexandre Dumas is one of the most famous offerings from the WE series… do you know why? Because originally the writing instruments were released with the wrong signature – that of Dumas’ son, rather than his own signature. Montblanc then hurriedly tried to recall them and reissued them with the correct signature… this one is a ‘correct’ signature pencil! These are easily identified, as the limitation number has an N at the end of it - this example is number 6790/9000.
Alexandre Dumas was one of the most famous novelists and playwrights of the 19th Century. He wrote more than 300 novels, with two of the most recognisable being “The Three Musketeers” and “The Count of Monte Cristo”.
In our opinion, this is one of the most richly detailed of all the Writers Editions, with the shimmering barrel and cap offering a wonderful contrast to the almost dark brown resin. The gold trim works perfectly and the distinct sword shaped clip, makes this such a handsome writing instrument.
The pencil is fitted with 0.7mm leads and a lightly eraser.
