Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Homage to Ludwig II Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with a standard Montblanc presentation box. The pen is presented in overall fantastic condition - there is a some discolouration to the gold-plated ring by the nib and this is shown in the photos. As with other POA pens, only 4810 were produced and this is number 4324.
In 2018, Montblanc honoured King Ludwig II. The central theme of the design is the swan, with the cap being crafted from a translucent lacquered with a white guilloche design underneath, which emulates the white feathers. The Champagne gold-coated clip is shaped like the neck and head of this graceful bird. The barrel is finished in blue lacquer, with the cap top shaped like a crown, with engraved lettering that takes its inspiration from the royal seal of this Bavarian monarch. The blue lacquer was chosen as a nod to the colour of his official royal portrait, as well as the blue pillars inside the throne room at Neuschwanstein castle.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
