Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 888 Elizabeth I Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with a standard Montblanc presentation box. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall excellent condition. As with other POA pens, only 888 were produced and this is number 532.
In 2010, Montblanc honoured Queen Elizabeth I and this is now regarded as one of the most sought-after of all the Patron of Art series. The vibrant red lacquered finish is inspirited by her royal garments, with the Tudor rose and cross of the crown on the cap. The term "Video et taceo" is engraved on the cap ring. The engravings on the solid 18k yellow gold trim are a nod to her childhood days, specifically referring to the artistic embroidery of the book "The Glass of the Sinful Soul", the book that she designed at the age of 11.
The 18k broad nib has an engraving of a royal crown and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
