Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Alexander von Humboldt Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and booklet. The pen has never been inked and is presented in fantastic condition - the M sticker, denoting a medium nib, remains on the cone. As with other POA pens, only 4810 were produced and this is number 2015. The box and booklet are for number 2014, we'd suggest that the mixup happened very early in its life, with the difference only being 1 number away.
In 2007, Montblanc honoured the great naturalist Alexander von Humboldt. The cap and barrel are crafted from black grenadilla wood, with the inlays and trim being sterling silver. The design of the inlays was chosen to represent the art of native Indians, whose culture von Humboldt studied on his travels across South America.
The 18k medium nib has an engraving of a sextant and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
