Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Montblanc Great Masters LeGrand Pirelli Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and stamped booklet. The pen has been lightly used and is presented in overall fantastic condition - there is a very slight bend in the clip, shown in the photos, but it is very small. On the very edges of the nib, the gold can be seen below the ruthenium coating, but the photos were taken with a full macro setup, so under normal conditions this is barely visible. Only 1872 unnumbered pens were produced.
Part of the Great Masters series, this pen pays tribute to the legendary tyre manufacturers, Pirelli.
The Pirelli craftsmen are known as "sgorbiatori", who hand-craft tyre patterns, with each prototype taking many days to create. The cap and barrel are finished in rubber, with an embossed pattern which is inspired by designs in the Pirelli archive. The cap finial and barrel cone have a striking red ring, with the trim being ruthenium-coated. The Montblanc snowcap emblem is crafted from mother-of-pearl.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it's a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
