Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 149 High Artistry A Journey on the Orient Express LE1883 Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outers), bottle of ink, sealed notebook, information booklet and unstamped service guide. The pen has never been used and is presented in essentially as new condition. Only 1883 were produced and this is number 0089 (the limitation number can be found on the cap).
A true first for Montblanc... a blue 149! Released earlier this year, the Journey on the Orient Express is not only a wonderful pen but a delightful set, including blue ink and specially designed notebook. The pen is crafted from a midnight blue resin, which is reminiscent of the colour-scheme that adorns this legendary train. The art deco style extends to the engraving on the cap, which are inspired by the marquetry designs of Rene Prou. The bouquet of flowers engraved on the nib are based on another of Prou's works. We particularly like the ivory-coloured snowcap, which works perfectly with the blue colour scheme.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it's a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
