Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 Gold-Coated Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box and information leaflet. The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in overall fantastic condition - there is a little bit of additional rhodium-plating on the nib, which was no doubt a production issue that wasn't spotted at the time. The EF sticker, denoting an extra fine nib, remains on the barrel.
This is a relatively simple pen to date, as it features a solid ebonite feed, 18c tri-tone nib, one-piece barrel and black theads piston. As such it dates the pen between 1969-72. The clip ring features only Germany markings.
There's so much value in these vintage 149's when compared to the current retail price of the modern version. They're wonderful writers and just have something 'extra' about them!
The pen is fitted with a 14c tri-tone extra fine nib and it's a piston filling pen, which means that bottled ink is your choice here.
The important details are as follows...
- 14c Tri-Tone Extra Fine Nib
- Montblanc Presentation Box
- Fantastic Condition
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication - "izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens".
