Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 146 Green Straited Celluloid 1950’s Fountain Pen, which comes with an IZODS Montblanc presentation box. The pen is in lovely condition for its age - it's offered at a special price as the clip is from a later pen (1991-92).
The striated celluloid 146's are delightful pens and this example has lovely warm brown and green tones with the Montblanc snowcap exuding an ivory-hue. The striped pattern is extremely eye-catching. The cone is heat-stamped with 146 and EF (denoting an extra fine nib). These 50’s 146's feature a telescopic piston, so during the first stage there is no movement of the piston, then you’ll feel a small amount of resistance and when the second stage then activates it is used as any other piston in a 146.
The pen is fitted with a glorious 14c tri-tone extra fine nib and these 50’s nibs are just a dream to write with.
