Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 144 Classique Czar Nikolai I Vermeil Fountain Pen, which comes with a large Montblanc presentation box. The pen has been lightly used and is presented in fantastic condition.
The Czar Nikolai writing instruments are one of the most famous offerings from the past 30 years and were produced from 1997-2002.
They were available in two versions, vermeil and platinum plated. This is the vermeil (gold-plating over sterling silver) version and when contrasted with the vibrant green malachite cap, it really is a very striking writing instrument. Malachite was chosen for this pen because it was the stone of the Russian Czars. The clip is gold-plated.The appropriate Germany and serial number markings can be found on the clip ring.
The pen is fitted with an 18k fine nib and it's a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
