Thanks very much for looking at this wonderful Montblanc Heritage Collection Rouge et Noir Ebonite LE1906 Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (including outers) and stamped booklet - confirming first purchase on 23rd May 2016. The pen has been lightly used and is presented in overall fantastic condition. Only 1906 were produced and this is number 1573.
The Rouge et Noir name dates back to 1906 and Montblanc have resurrected the name for the 110th anniversary. The most obvious nod to these historical offerings is the winding serpent clip, which on this version has ruby eyes. The pen is crafted from black ebonite, which is a further nod to the original historical offerings. As the pen ages, the ebonite takes on a brown hue, which is one of the lovely reasons for using ebonite as a material.
The 18k medium nib features an engraving of a serpent and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
