Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Limited Edition 1898 Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outers), famous quotes book and stamped booklet. The pen is presented in overall excellent condition - there is a small mark on the barrel and some very light wear to the ruthenium coating on the clip. Only 1898 were produced and this is number 1033.
The Great Characters series has seen many famous names honoured by Montblanc and the Enzo Ferrari is the latest offering. The pen is crafted from metal and finished in the same appearance as the structure of a Ferrari 125S engine.
The cap top features the Montblanc snowcap finished in frosted resin embedded and embedded in to a metal grid.
The iconic prancing horse is on the reverse of the cap and the clip features a famous quote from Enzo that reads “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it”. The red elements are lacquered, inspired by the red used on the model 125 S. The cone features two important dates in the career of Enzo Ferrari.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib, which is engraved with the image of a Ferrari 250 GTO steering wheel and Enzo Ferrari’s nickname – “Il Commendatore”. It’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
