Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Montblanc Great Characters Alfred Hitchcock 3000 Limited Edition Rollerball Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outers) and film reel case. The pen has never been used and remains sealed in its factory pouch. Only 3000 examples were produced and this is number 1514.
The Great Characters series has seen many famous names honoured by Montblanc and the Alfred Hitchcock is arguably the most interesting, in terms of design.
The cap and barrel are finished with a twisting effect, which alludes to the dizzying effect of the staircase in the film “Vertigo”. The stainless steel clip is knife-shaped as a nod to “Psycho” and one the cone can be found 53 hatch marks, marking the 53 films that Hitchcock directed. The notes on the cap and barrel refer to the original ‘Psycho’ film reel. The trim is sterling silver.
