Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Montblanc Great Characters Alfred Hitchcock 3000 Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outers), film reel case and booklet. The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condition - up until just a few months ago, the pen remains sealed in its factory pouch. Only 3000 examples were produced and this is number 0860.
The Great Characters series has seen many famous names honoured by Montblanc and the Alfred Hitchcock is arguably the most interesting, in terms of design.
The cap and barrel are finished with a twisting effect, which alludes to the dizzying effect of the staircase in the film “Vertigo”. The stainless steel clip is knife-shaped as a nod to “Psycho” and one the cone can be found 53 hatch marks, marking the 53 films that Hitchcock dirtected. The notes on the cap and barrel refer to the original ‘Psycho’ film reel. The trim is sterling silver.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
