Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Daniel Defoe Writers Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its folio- style Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and stamped information booklet - confirming first purchase on 3rd September 2014. The pen has barely been used and is presented in fantastic condition - it is offered at a special price due to their being some ruthenium-coating loss on the nib (shown in the photos), which is common on the Defoe. Only 10000 were produced and this is number 6783.
Launched in 2014, as the yearly offering for the Montblanc Writers Edition. The Defoe takes its inspiration from his famous novel 'Robinson Crusoe', which was released in 1719. The barrel and cap are crafted from a swirling brown and black resin, with the cap being shaped like a feather, which is a nod to 'Poll' his parrot. The shape of the pen reflects the shape of the boats paddle draft. The pattern on the cap ring and piston cone are a reproduction of the pattern used on the first edition of the book.
The pen is fitted with an 18k fine nib and it’s a piston filling pen, so your choice here is bottled ink.
