Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Danitrio Takumi Urushi "Yura no to wo" Poem Fountain Pen and we'll include a Nakaya wooden presentation box (including outer). The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condition. The fine nib has been ground to a cursive italic by the brilliant Jose Munuera.

Danitrio require no introduction and if you’ve got this far then likely you’ll be familiar with their wonderful writing instruments. Takumi means "craft" in Japanese and this version takes its inspiration from the 31-syllable waka (Poem 46) by Sone no Yoshitada. The poem translates to... Like a boatsman crossing the Strait of Yura, who has lost his oar, I do not know where this path of love will take me. The cap is finished in crimson urushi, with the barrel having a shimmering finish that includes elegant lines that sweep across the barrel, like the currents that drift through water. The Maki-e Red Seal shows the level of detail featured on the pen.

The pen is fitted with an 18k cursive italic nib and it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied), so your choice here is bottled ink.

The important details are as follows...

Condition: Wonderful

Nib: Cursive Italic
