Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Omas 75th Anniversary Lucens Blue Royale Celluloid Fountain Pen, which comes with an OMAS presentation box (including outer). The pen has been regularly, but carefully used, and is presented in overall lovely condition. Only 1000 pens were produced and this is number 00988. Blue Royale celluloid does have a habit of taking on a purple tinge, this has only happened on the piston cone.
OMAS require no introduction and since their sad demise in January 2016, the hunger from fans and collectors for great examples of their writing instruments has increased dramatically! The company was founded by Armando Simoni and the full name was Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, abbreviated to OMAS.
The 75th Anniversary pens were released in 2000 and were available in a variety of models and finishes. This is the Blue Lucens version, with this model being known for its transparent barrel – the finish is achieved by inserting celluloid elements of the same colour as the cap in to channels inside the clear barrel – it creates an extremely eye-catching effect! The cap, section and piston cone are crafted from blue royale celluloid and the trim is gold-plated.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
