Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this rare Omas 75th Anniversary E.E Ercolessi Green Celluloid Fountain Pen, which comes with its large wooden OMAS presentation box (including outer), unused bottle of ink and information booklet. The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condition. Only 1921 pens were produced and this is number 0286.
OMAS require no introduction and since their sad demise in January 2016, the hunger from fans and collectors for great examples of their writing instruments has increased dramatically! The company was founded by Armando Simoni and the full name was Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, abbreviated to OMAS.
The name of this model takes its inspiration from the E.E. Ercolessi pen shops, known for being one of the most ancient in the city in Milan. Founded in 1921, they used to have pens made under their own brand, by various makers, including OMAS.
In 1995, Ercolessi commissioned a special pen from OMAS and 1996 saw the launch of this beauty. It’s crafted from one of our favourite celluloids, with the variety and vividness of green tones having to be seen to be fully appreciated. The trim is gold-plated.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
