Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montegrappa Leonardo da Vinci LE500 Fountain Pen, which comes with an IZODS presentation box. The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in overall fantastic condition – it’s just returned from being serviced by Montegrappa. Only 500 were produced and this is number 030.
Released on the 500th anniversary of Da Vinci’s death, this is a fascinating fountain pen. The cap top is modelled in the shape of a peg, representing construction and mechanics. The cap is crafted from stainless steel, with fretwork reminiscent of his geometric theories and concepts. The inner lining of the cap is brass, which is a nod to the fact that this would have been the metal of choice for engineers during that period. The barrel is produced from aged olive wood.
The pen is fitted with an medium size #8 18k nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
