Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Daniel Defoe Writers Edition Rollerball Pen which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (including outer – some light wear to this) and stamped information booklet – confirming first purchase on 24th January 2016. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall excellent condition. Only 8000 were produced and this is number 5533.

Launched in 2014, as the yearly offering for the Montblanc Writers Edition. The Defoe takes its inspiration from his famous novel ‘Robinson Crusoe’, which was released in 1719. The barrel and cap are crafted from a swirling brown and black resin, with the cap being shaped like a feather, which is a nod to ‘Poll’ his parrot. The shape of the pen reflects the shape of the boats paddle draft. The pattern on the cap ring and piston cone are a reproduction of the pattern used on the first edition of the book.

The pen is fitted with a new rollerball refill. If you’d rather use it as a fineliner, then you’d simply have to purchase the relevant refill – these are widely available online.
