Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Pope Julius II Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its lacquered presentation box (including outer) and information booklet. As with other POA pens, only 4810 were produced and this is number 1039. The pen has never been used and is presented in virtually as new condition – there is a tiny mark on the cone, shown in the photos. The M sticker, denoting a medium nib, remains on the cone.
In 2005, Montblanc honoured Pope Julius II, who is considered to be one of the most influential patron of the arts. He was responsible for the transformation of Rome in to a Renaissance cultural centre and he supported artists such as Michaelangelo and Raphael. He commissioned the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel and ordered the building of St. Peter’s Church.
The cap is inspired by the Papal crown and the nib features an engraving of the emblem of the Pope. The barrel and cap are crafted from a cream-coloured lacquer with a gold-plated lattice then sitting on top.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
