Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art Peter The Great 888 Fountain Pen, which comes with a standard Montblanc presentation box. As with other POA pens, only 888 were produced and this is number 308 (we will be listing the matching number Catherine The Great soon). The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in fantastic condition.
In 1997, Montblanc honoured Peter The Great, with the design taking its inspiration from the magnificent court of the Russian Tsar, with a laurel wreath engraved on the cap. The fretwork on the 888 is crafted from solid white gold, with the resin beneath being a dark green – the green theme is continued with the delightful emeralds found around the top of the cap.
The 18k medium nib features an engraved two-headed eagle and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. This is a legendary Patron of Art edition, which manages to be both richly detailed and elegantly simple at the same time.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
