Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this glorious Montblanc Patron of Art Nicolaus Copernicus 888 Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its lacquered presentation box (including outer). As with other POA pens, only 888 were produced and this is number 287. The pen has never been used and is presented in fantastic condition – there are two tiny marks, shown in the photos.
In 2003, Montblanc honoured Nicolaus Copernicus, with the pen taking inspiration for his model of the universe. The pens rings and trim are crafted from solid white gold, with nine yellow diamonds representing the planets’ orbit around the sun. The mother-of-pearl snowcap sits atop the cap.
The 18k medium nib features an engraving of his orbital charts and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. This is one of our favourite Patron of Art releases and it’s an incredibly detailed and striking writing instrument!

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
