Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Karl der Grosse Hommage a Charlemagne Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its lacquered presentation box (including outer) and information booklet. As with other POA pens, only 4810 were produced and this is number 3270. The pen has never been used and is presented in virtually as new condition.
In 2000, Montblanc honoured the cultural visionary, Karl der Grosse. The barrel and cap are crafted from sterling silver which winds round the pen in an extremely eye-catching way. The gold-plated trim is decorated in the style of Aachen cathedral, which is where Charlemagne was crowned.
The 18k medium nib features the Emperors monogram and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
This is one of our favourite Patron of Art releases and it’s an incredibly detailed and striking writing instrument!

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
