Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 888 Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its lacquered presentation box and information booklet. As with other POA pens, only 888 were produced and this is number 558. The pen has never been used and is presented in virtually as new condition.
In 2002, Montblanc honoured Andrew Carnegie. The design takes its inspiration from the artistic style that Carnegie supported to enthusiastically, Art Nouveau. The fretwork on the 888 is crafted from solid white gold, with the female figure’s wings wrapping around the cap. The barrel and cap are finished in a mother-of-pearl lacquer, which shimmers in the light, the mother-of-pearl theme also extends to the iconic Montblanc snowcap.
The 18k medium nib features an engraved lily and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. This is one of our favourite Patron of Art releases and it’s an incredibly detailed and striking writing instrument!

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
