Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Gold-Coated Fountain Pen, which comes with a later-style Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and unstamped booklet. The pen is in fantastic condition, especially for its age – the Germany and M stickers, denoting a medium nib, remain on the barrel.

This is a pretty straightforward pen to date, with the combination of grooved-faceebonite feed, friction-fit piston and 18k tri-tone nib placing it around 1965-68. It also has a one-piece barrel and Germany only clip ring markings.

These earlier 149’s from the 1960’s are an absolute delight and represent wonderful value compared to new examples.

The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
