Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Donation Series Sir Georg Solti Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box, information booklet, playing cards (sealed) and unstamped service guide. The pen has been regularly used, but is still presented in overall lovely condition. There is some wear to the outside of the presentation box.
Part of the Donation Series, the Georg Solti pays tribute to this legendary pianist and conductor. Included as part of the presentation set are two sealed packs of playing cards – this is a nod to his love of Bridge!
This cap and barrel are crafted from black resin, with the trim being platinum-plated. The clip symbolises the keyboard of a piano, with the cap rings reflecting the strings. Solti’s signature can be found engraved on the barrel and red was chosen as this was the colour he used to write comments on musical scores.
The pen is fitted with an 18k broad nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. We particularly like the blue tinged ink window, which is a nod to more historical offerings.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
