Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Mercury 'Francois des Trixhes' Tibaldi Impero Celluloid Goldfink Fountain Pen, which comes with its Goldfink presentation box. The pen has barely been used and is presented in overall wonderful condition.
This is a fascinating pen, with only 80 being produced (this is number 61), but even fewer having then been upgraded by Goldfink, Tom Westerich. Around the year 2000, Tibaldi stopped producing pens - the distributor for the brand in the Benelux countries, Robert Dubois, managed to procure a small amount of the legendary Impero celluloid and created these 80 pens under the Mercury Pens brand. The pens were manufactured by Stipula and were cartridge / converter.
More recently, a very small number of these pens, were sent to Goldfink (Tom Westerich, in Germany), where he not only transformed them to being a piston filler (so bottled ink is your choice), but on this example also added a beautiful 1950s - 60's Montblanc double broad 14c nib (taken from a 146). The result is absolutely fantastic... the Impero celluloid requires no introduction and is one of the most legendary and sought-after of all the celluloids. The trim is sterling silver.
The important details are as follows...
Condition: Wonderful
Box: Goldfink
Nib: Double Broad
