Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle 1902 Rollerball / Fineliner Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and stamped booklet – confirming first purchase on 12th July 2024. The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condition – we’ve highlighted a tiny darker area on the mother-of-pearl snowcap, but this is simply for a complete description. Only 1902 were produced and this is number 1251.

Launched in 2021, as the yearly offering from the Montblanc Writers Edition, the 1902 Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is finished in a brown lacquer, which is a nod to pipe often used by Holmes. The wooden elements to the cap and cone also reflect this detail. The cap and barrel feature a pattern which is a nod to his coat, along with parts of the historic London map. The maginifying glass style clip is inspired by the one that Holme’s used and underneath the clip can be found the silhouette of a hound, which was created using photoluminescent pigments.

Sitting atop the cap can be found the Montblanc snowcap in glorious mother-of-pearl.

The pen is fitted with a new rollerball refill. If you’d rather use it as a fineliner, then you’d simply have to purchase the relevant refill – these are widely available online.
