Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Honore de Balzac Fountain Pen, which comes with its book style Montblanc presentation box and stamped booklet . The pen has been lightly used and is presented in overall excellent condition – there are a couple of tiny marks on the barrel, but due to the colour and finish, these aren’t really noticeable in normal use. Only 10000 were produced and this is number 1730.

 

 

 

 

Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2013 it was Honoré de Balzac, the French novelist and playwright.

 

 

 

 

The design of the pen is inspired by Balzac’s style, with his pointed shoes being reflected in the shapre of the cone. The striped black and grey barrel are a nod to the “cutaway”, which was an important part of his wardrobe. The clip and clip ring reflect the decorated walking stick that he carried. Balzac’s signature is engraved on the cap.

 

 

 

 

The pen is fitted with an 18k extra fine nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
