Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Carlo Collodi Rollerball Pen, which comes with its Montbanc presentation box (including outers) and stamped booklet – confirming first purchase on 30th March 2012. The pen has never been used and is presented in as essentially as new condition. Only 8400 pens were produced and this is number 4770.

 

 

 

Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2011 it was Carlo Collodi.

 

 

 

The barrel is crafted from a deep brown resin, with the skeletonised cap and trmim being Champagne-gold plated. The pen takes its inspiration from his greatest work “The Adventures of Pinocchio”. The cap shows him and his companions, the cricket, fox, cat and whale, with the screw on the clip being a nod to the joints of the famous marionette. Collodi’s signature can be found engraved on the cap. The shape of the cone represents Pinocchio’s nose!

 

 

 

The pen is fitted with a new rollerball refill. If you’d rather use it as a fineliner, then you’d simply need to purchase the relevant refill – these are widely available online.
